Controlling high blood pressure

Inevitable high blood pressure

One body function disorder that can lead to serious health problems is high blood pressure. Blood pressure is the pressure the blood exerts on the blood vessels.
High blood pressure is above 160mmHg (Systolic pressure) and 95mmHg (Diastolic pressure).Blood pressure increases when there is something restricting the flow of blood and can lead to cardiovascular conditions such as angina, and even lead to heart attack or stroke. There are many causes of high blood pressure but typically it occurs through the build-up of material within the inner lining of blood vessels narrowing the blood flow.
Tea catechins suppress increases in blood pressure.

Tea catechins act to slow down enzyme functions. This action is expected to suppress the increase of blood sugar. Angiotension-converting enzyme (ACE) is a substance that increases blood pressure. By suppressing the function of the enzyme, tea catechins can inhibit increases in blood pressure.

Experimental Results
Impact of tea catechins intake on blood pressure.

A study conducted on impact of tea catechins on blood pressure showed that both (A) Diastolic pressure and (B) Systolic pressure declined after taking 500 mg of tea catechins for three months. Results were particularly good in the group of subjects who were prone to high blood pressure.
