Fostering beneficial intestinal flora

Harmful bacteria in the intestines lead to unpleasant bowel conditions.

In the intestines there are trillions of bacteria, including beneficial bacterial such as Bifidobacteria and lactobacillus, and harmful bacterial such as Clostridium and Clostridium perfringens, these greatly influence human health. It is thought that harmful bacterial may cause constipation, diarrhea and even influence your appearance. Constipation is extremely bad for your skin.
Tea catechins relieve constipation.

The first step to getting relief from constipation is to reduce the level of harmful bacteria in the intestines. Beneficial bacteria are then able to flourish in the new healthy environment. Reducing harmful bacteria also decreases bad odor compounds from building in the digestive tracts.

Experimental Results
The effect of tea catechin intake on intestinal function

Diagram (A) shows the impact of tea catechins on intestinal flora. Results show that after taking 300 mg of tea catechins daily, harmful bacteria decrease after the 21st day, while beneficial bacteria such as Bifidobacteria, increase in response.
Results in diagram (B) show a significant increase in the number of people who reported regular bowel movements.

(A) Effect of GTC administration on fecal flora of 15 human volunteers. Graph is expressed as mean ± SD. *, **; Significant difference (*p<0.05, **p<0.01) from value of day 0 (before the administration). (B) Effect of tea catechins ingestion (500mg/day: 3 months) on bowel movement regularity in humans (N=37)
